1. Fox River Trail
Location: The Fox River Trail is a more than 40-mile-long bike and pedestrian path that runs along the Fox River in Illinois. The address for the trail varies depending on where you access it, but you can find more information about specific access points and parking areas on the Fox River Trail website.
Parking: There are several parking areas along the Fox River Trail where you can park your car and access the trail. Some popular parking areas include Fabyan Forest Preserve, Mount St. Mary Park, and Voyageur Landing Forest Preserve.
Leash Rules: Dogs must be on a leash

The Fox River Trail is great for a leisurely walk or bike ride with your pup. As you traverse the trail, you and your pet will be treated to picturesque vistas of the river, charming towns, and abundant wildlife that call the Fox River home.
2. Chop’d Plainfield
Location: 12337 Illinois Route 59, Suite 155, Plainfield, IL 60585
Parking: On-site shopping-center parking.
Leash Rules: Dogs must be leashed. Dogs may join you on the weather-permitting outdoor patio. Chop’d also offers a separate dog menu featuring bacon, grilled chicken and rice, or a burger with brown rice.
Hours: Sunday–Thursday, 11 a.m.–10 p.m. (kitchen closes at 9 p.m.); Friday–Saturday, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. (kitchen closes at 10 p.m.).
Chop’d is a solid choice when both you and your dog want more than a basic patio stop. Pet parents can order from the regular restaurant menu while their dog gets something from the patio-only dog menu. The patio is seasonal and weather permitting, so check before making the drive.
3. LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve

Leash Rules: Dogs must be leashed (maximum 10 feet)
Hours: Dusk to dawn
Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve is a beautiful natural area with over 9 miles of trail through woods, wetlands, and prairies. A winding creek provides a great spot for water-loving dogs to cool off.
4. Filling Station
Location: 300 W Main St, St. Charles, IL 60174
Parking: Free parking in downtown lots and parking garage
Hours: 11:30 am-2 am daily
Leash Rules: Dogs must be on a leash
The Filling Station is a pub and grill that offers a dog-friendly outdoor patio. They serve a variety of craft beers and pub fare.
5. Batavia Farmer’s Market
Location: North River Street between Wilson St. and State St. in downtown Batavia, IL
Parking: Free parking is available in several nearby municipal lots and on-street parking spaces.
Hours: Every Saturday May/June through late October, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, rain or shine. Find updated dates here.

6. Morton Arboretum

The West Park Bark Park is a 3-acre off-leash dog park in Batavia that features a pavilion, shade trees, and a beach area! It also offers water stations and waste bags for your convenience. Please note the beach area is not fenced.
