Join Simply Pets for weekday dog walks and potty breaks in the Fox Valley. You’ll work independently in clients’ homes, with a local team to turn to when you need support.
The schedule
You must be available Monday–Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Our dog-walking service runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; tell us your full availability when applying. Your assigned visits and route vary with client needs. This is a part-time position, and hours are not guaranteed.
We’re looking for someone who can commit to ongoing employment for at least six months. Pets and their people count on familiar, dependable care.
Pay and benefits
- Starting pay: $16 per hour, plus 100% of your tips. Tips vary and are not guaranteed.
- Paid time for visits and travel between client homes on your route.
- Paid pet first aid/CPR certification.
- W-2 employment, liability insurance, and workers’ compensation coverage.
- Independent work with support from a local pet-care team.
What a visit looks like
- Arrive within the scheduled visit window and follow each pet’s care instructions.
- Walk dogs, provide potty breaks, refresh water, and feed as instructed.
- Check harnesses, leashes, gates, and doors to keep pets and homes secure.
- Send clear visit journals and photos through our app.
- Notice and promptly report changes in a pet’s behavior, health, or surroundings.
- Communicate with the team and ask questions whenever instructions are unclear.
Before you apply
- Be at least 18 and able to pass a background check.
- Live locally in the Fox Valley and have your own reliable car and a valid driver’s license.
- Have a smartphone and be comfortable using our scheduling and visit app.
- Be comfortable handling large and small dogs, including walking multiple dogs together.
- Be able to walk varying distances, work outdoors in changing weather, and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be dependable, attentive to detail, and available for at least six months.
